Sports Day

The heavy downpour and the bleak weather did not dampen the spirits of SBU students. The students who turned up in their sports attires of various colours in support of their respective sports houses were in jovial moods and the atmosphere was charged with excitement.

Sports Day kicked off with the march-past competition. Following the event, the finals for all the sports events took place with athlete after athlete giving their very best shot. Seventeen-year-old Syazwi of Cooke won the title “Male Athlete of the Year” as he determinedly went on breaking record after record. On the other hand, the title “Female Athlete of the Year” was bagged by seventeen-year-old Ng Beverly of Maclay. Their successors were fifteen-year old Arjun Krishnan of Shirtliff and fourteen-year-old Vanessa Janaki of Prouse.

This year will definitely be a memorable year for Maclay as they made a comeback by walking away as the winner of the best board and march-past competition and needless to say, the overall champion of the SMKSBU Sports Day of 2008.
