He is no stranger to the pool. People refer to him as the SBU king of swimming. This young man has set and broken numerous records in swimming history. The swimmer in question is none other than Cheah Shu Pin. This national swimming champion has brought much glory to the school. In 2006, he participated in the National Level Swimming Competition and managed to bag two silvers and one gold medal in freestyle and breaststroke. In addition, this defending champion also took part in the 2006 MSSMKL Aquatic Development Circuit and won three gold and five silver medals. Shu Pin, the SMKSBU swimming king stunned everyone when he triumphed in the MSSKL 2006 and PRA-KL Age Group. “I am proud of my current achievements. I hope that I can improve further,” he said when asked about his success.
Cheah Shu Pin has not looked back and this evident from his success in 2007. This young man who represented the school in MSSM and MSSKL brought back five gold medals and ten silver medals. He also participated in the 2007 Wilayah Sports and clinched three gold medals, four silver medals and a bronze. Meanwhile, in the PRA-KL Age Group, he won two gold medals, four silver and one bronze. “My target is to do well and win a few medals in the 2008 SUKMA Competition,” says Shu Pin.
