Farewell Principal

On 12th of January 2007, SMKSBU celebrated the career of our principal of three years, Pn Noor Ainun Bt. Dato’ Seri Yang Rashdi as it came to an end. The event was attended by various guests, such as the members of Parents’ and Teachers’ Association(PTA), principals from numerous school, teachers and students

As is the norm with most school events, the ceremony took off with a prayer conducted by Encik Bustamam followed by the singing of the national anthem and school song. Next were speeches by the head prefect, Ebenezer Abel Paul, Puan Norrizan Bahari, the Senior Assistant of Administration and the head of PTA, Encik Hassan Basri Pilus.

Yet it was the speech delivered by Pn Noor Ainun that proved the most memorable as she took a walk down memory lane, reminiscing her experience in SMKSBU. “The students, teachers and staffs of SMKSBU are different from other school. With the school’s unique culture and the students’ and teachers’ unfading love for their school, SMKSBU has become the best school I have even known,” said a teary-eyed Puan Noor Ainun.

This was followed by several entertaining performances by the school orchestra, choir and prefects. The highlight of the day was definitely Puan Noor Ainun’s rendition of “Fly Me to the Moon” accompanied by the school band. Soon after, she was showered with loads of gifts from teachers and students alike. Finally, Pn Noor Ainun was sent off with a farewell song as well as hugs and handshakes before she got into a florally adorned BMW.

Pn Noor Ainun was and always will remain a special figure in the history of SMK SBU and here family here wishes her a good and happy retirement.
