The 2 counsellors in the school are     (i)   Pn Song Cheng Ing

Students facing problems in the following areas are encouraged to refer to the counselors for guidance and/or counselling:          
(i)  peer /  psychosocial relationships
(ii)   studies/ academic problems
(iii)  family matters
(iv)  career interests and options
(v)   self esteem
(vi)  discipline
(vii) substance abuse

Students may be referred for counselling by parents, teachers or friends.  Alternatively students themselves may drop by the counseling room and make an appointment with either counsellor.

Counselling services are available from 8.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

Other activities  :

1.  Orientation for Form 1 students :  At the beginning of each school year,  student peer counsellors conduct ice-breaking sessions for the students to get to know each other and to acquaint themselves with new friends.

2.  Workshop on Learning Techniques  for Form 1 Students  :  In January,  Form 1 students are exposed to effective learning techniques such as  time management,  speed reading,  memory skills and how to make notes.

3.  Motivation seminars for Forms 3 and 5 students :  The seminars focus on motivating students towards achieving excellent results in the public examinations.

4.  Seminar on Examination Techniques  :  This is done on a subject by subject basis and students are given guidance on answering examination questions and  common mistakes to avoid.

5.  Education Fair  :  In order to provide students with the latest information on education opportunities after Form 5, well-established private colleges and universities are invited to this Fair.  The Form 5 and 4 students visit the Fair according to a schedule and enquire about courses,  facilities  and scholarship offers.

6.  Others  :  There are a host of other activities.  These include talks,  workshops,  seminars and courses on Personal Grooming,  Interview Skills,  Resume-writing,  Boy-Girl Relationships,  Leadership,  various careers and  others.
We also work closely with private colleges and take our students for programs at Taylor’s University College,  Sunway University College, HELP University College. And KDU College.  The private colleges have always been most helpful in providing speakers for various topics aimed at guiding our students.
